About Me

I was born and raised in the Toronto area. I come from an Italian family, my grandparents immigrated to Toronto in their early twenties. With no money upon arriving, they founded one of the largest Italian bakeries in Toronto. I owe my ambition and drive to them.

Currently, I have an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. In 2020 I completed my undergraduate degree in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto, where I majored in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

These experiences have taught me technical skills like programming, software development, and AI and Machine Learning. More importantly, I have been able to develop communication, time management, problem solving and teamwork skills.

My ultimate ambition is to combine my technical knowledge with my business drive. I have a passion for innovation, disruptive technologies, and generally using technology to improve quality of life. My ideal role involves working collaboratively with others to positively influence the world, through entrepreneurship or pre-existing ventures.

  • Launched a new patient portal with an intuitive UI adhering to interoperable standards (FHIR).
  • Developed and launched new comprehensive care programs, generating new revenue and partnerships.
  • Drove external reviews such as TrustPilot from 1.7 to 4.4, by investing and improving key patient workflows.

  • Built a brand new portal for customer support, introducing an efficiency of 4x for the team.
  • Launched new business models in key jurisdictions facing regulation change, mitigating revenue decline and user churn.

  • Implemented in-platform billing solutions for doctors that led to a roughly 50% increase in captured revenue.
  • Worked with the software and business development teams to create and develop a new doctor onboarding flow (reducing onboarding dropoff by 18%), and internal review systems.
  • Developed real-time logging for evaluating the health of the product, enabling the software team to target bugs more quickly as well as better communication with executives.

AI legal predictions

Undergraduate thesis

2019

  • For my undergraduate thesis, I worked with Professor Niblett in the Law department at the University of Toronto. We developed an AI-based model that was able to predicted legal citations reasonably well, while exclusively reading the text.

ShiftAI

Co-founder

2018 - Present

  • Co-founded an initiative to introduce AI and Machine Learning analysis into the NHL. We currently produce draft rankings for new prospects (using clustering), and have started predicting NHL Playoff outcomes.

ER Room Optimization

  • Constructed Machine Learning models to help predict patient flow within the Emergency Department of the North York General Hospital.
  • Using this tool, the staff is better able to allocate resources effectively, and potentially increase capacity.

Autonomous Robot

Coding Lead

2018

  • Working in a team of three, we built a fully autonomous robot that would sort various objects into storage cabinets as requested by user input.
  • I led the code development, which controlled a variety of sensors and motors. Our robot passed the final test, and scored top 10!
